Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skulls

I went to see the fourth Indiana Jones movie this weekend, and enjoyed it. It had everything you'd expect it to have from the other movies, plus a few unexpected twists. Cate Blanchett is good as the villainous leader of the Russian spies who are trying to track down the crystal skulls. The mystery itself is the weakest part of the movie -- whereas the other movies involve an encounter with the supernatural, this one ventures into sci-fi mythology, and anyone who knows a lot of the recent sci-fi material that's out there will recognize the clues too easily. Shia Lebouef is good as well, and Harrison Ford holds the movie together, with his excitement at unraveling the mystery becoming infectious. The whole thing is visually interesting, with Spielberg having fun with the Nevada test site, Harley Davidsons, and other iconic images, including of course his own iconic images, the fedora and whip. Critics I read haven't liked the movie, but it gets my thumb's up.
