Posting in other languages

I’m using Microsoft Word with translation software and a new Blogger plug-in (available at: http://buzz.blogger.com/bloggerforword.htm

“Ich bin ein Berliner.”
From JFK’s Berlin Wall speech (before Ronald Reagan’s).

MS Word translation to English:
I am a citizen of Berlin.

ドイツ語の投稿:
私はベルリンの市民である。
ベルリンのA の市民のI

I don’t know what the above characters say, but I hope it’s not offensive.

Colloquial Translation:
I am a jelly donut.

A “Berliner”  is also a name for a jelly donut, or it could be, depending on who you ask.

I’m going to try posting this on blogger and see how it goes.

Hey Scott,

Translated back into English...

"German Contribution:
I am a citizen of Berlin.
The citizen I of A of Berlin."

The second line doesn't make sense; probably just some sofware flub.

Your re-translation amuses me. I guess it shows the benefit of being able to read what you post. I will stick to posting in English, unless you want me to try posting in Japanese on your site. Is it perhaps a different alphabet? I know Japanese has a couple different alphabets. That could be causing the confusion. Who knows?
