Early Voting

I'm not sure if early voting is a good idea. Some key things might change between now and August 15, the scheduled date of the primary elections this year. News agencies and political operatives are busy coordinating attacks and producing information for the public to digest. Of course, I'm not voting for anyone I really want to vote for. Except maybe Dina Titus for governor. She actually came to a debate meet I was at to help judge.

In researching for this vote, I was shocked and dismayed to discover the quality of our university regent candidates. Look at the R-J's election guide to see what I mean. Pathetic. One's in the pocket of the already-too-powerful chancellor, not to mention not very academic, and the other two are woefully unqualified to run a university. How many 19-year-olds do you think can run a multimillion dollar business? Yet this guy thinks we should hand over some of our decision-making power to him, I guess just because he is a student and has the moxy to run. I am saddened by this mess.
