I'm starting to tire of watching sports in general. I like baseball, but I tend to fall asleep watching games on TV. I went to see the 51s play the other day, and I have to admit I wasn't into the game at all and left as soon as it started raining. Wimbledon hasn't held my interest this year. The Tour de France is interesting in some ways, but watching it is difficult. It's early a.m., and very slow developing stories. Now, if I had season tickets to watch a major league team play, that might cure my sports fatigue.
On the other hand, soccer is exciting, especially if you're rooting for one team or the other. I was sure Germany was going to score at least once in their match against Italy, for example, but then I turned it off to go do chores, and by the time I got back to it, it was over. Highlight shows just don't do soccer justice here in the U.S. I am going to watch the World Cup final on Sunday at a friend's house. I'm rooting for Italy, but only because I don't understand how France keeps winning. I think they're just getting lucky, but I could be wrong. Now if only I knew how to say "Go Italy" in Italian -- "Sforza?"
