I started this blog to talk about writing, so I'm going back to writing. The Internet has made freelance writing a little easier, but it has dramatically reduced the fees paid to freelance writers, I'm pretty sure. I've recently written two things for which I will get paid, but the amounts are pretty underwhelming. I'm being a bit vague here for propriety's sake. As a beginner, it's great to have any income at all from writing, but I wonder if I ought to be charging more. It's hard to know without reference to a good standard guide. Any ideas out there?
Also, I have found a job that will pay the bills for this month and the foreseeable future. I will have to split time between writing gigs and "real work" to continue my freelance career. We'll see how that works out. I'm not real excited about the job, but it is a good opportunity at a relatively stable place (I hope), so we'll see how it turns out, too.
