Issues

Here's a sampling of the responses I got when I raised two of my issues (the One Campaign and abortion) to four different Democratic Presidential candidates, all of whom signed me up for their email bulletins:

1. Obama -- "Cynicism" (see comments below)
2. Richardson -- a letter touting his environmental record as governor of N.M.
3. Edwards -- a letter about combatting greenhouse gasses
4. Dodd -- a letter urging me to stop a Swiftboat originator from being nominated to an ambassadorship.

I fail to see how these issues connect to abortion or the One campaign, but maybe I'm just lacking a politician's "vision." Let's see -- Obama's fight against cynicism must surely include a fight for moral principle (but wait, he hasn't told us what his moral principles are). Or maybe clean air in New Mexico and stopping the greenhouse effect will lead to poverty relief in Africa and around the world. Best of all, I should help stop a liar from becoming ambassador -- that surely will lead to the end of the abortion dilemma.

Egads, am I going to have to ask Dennis Kucinich my questions? Or should I just drop it and roll with what the pollsters say are the most important issues?
