Edwards in town
Edwards came to town to talk to the Culinary Union. Here's the NV Today summary. He talks a good talk and has some good policy ideas, and he's even willing to field a tricky policy question from a political reporter and answer it with apparent honesty (see the Las Vegas Gleaner here). I like his health care plan and his plan to pay for it. Still, I don't quite trust him. I'm starting to lean toward Obama again, but I'm not sure about him, either. I was tempted this weekend to sign up for an Obama event locally, but I'm holding back because of his pro-choice stance, because he hasn't been specific about how he plans to pay for his promises, and because I still have doubts about our long-term strategy in Iraq and the Middle East. Edwards stuck to union issues here in town, according to the blogs I read. I think he needs to broaden his appeal in later visits here if he hopes to build momentum for the caucus.
