Bourne Ultimatum
Saw this movie a while back and thought it was okay -- a long chase with some incredible smash-em-ups and fierce hand-to-hand combat along the way. There is little new in the movie. It even has pretty much the same cast of characters as the second movie, with a different CIA operative in charge and different unnamed killers chasing after Bourne. They don't do a lot of psychological soul-searching in this one, although there is a revelation at the end about how Jason Bourne became the ruthless killer he is. The most interesting part of the movie, perhaps, is Bourne's discovery that the government that reconditioned him is just as ruthless as he is, if not more so because it hides in plain sight as a vast bureaucracy. The government psychiatrist behind Jason Bourne's conditioning is an interesting amalgam of decrepitude, with his withered arm and government-issue glasses, and steely resolve, with his ultimate fearlessness when confronting Bourne in person. He's an interesting creation who makes for a good villain.

Great writing!
Although I disagree with your overall evaluation -- I found it to be a great movie!
