Goal setting

I've recently joined Weight Watchers in an effort to lose weight, which prompted me to think about goal setting in other areas. That led me to set a goal to walk at least one mile every weekend, no matter what, for a year. I think it's a very reachable goal. I will start with a month and see how I do. Here are some reasons for this goal:
1. it's good exercise
2. it will connect me more to the place I'm in
3. it will get me out of the house
4. it will give me a chance to think
5. it will reduce my dependence on technology and get back to more natural ways of doing things in general.

I may blog about this goal, but I may just journal. I'm hoping it will have a good impact on my life. Any help you all can provide would be appreciated. Thanks!
