I only got to about 5,000 words out of a desired 50,000. Oh well. Better luck next decade.
In other news, there may or may not be a vote on health care reform in the Senate this year. I think I have news fatigue, because I can't understand kowtowing to Ben Nelson or whomever just to break a threatened filibuster. Just get a bill passed so we can start negotiating behind closed doors on the fate of 17% of the economy.
Here are two competing opinions on the bill from the New York Times. I think I'm tending to sympathize more with Brooks, but I like Krugman's analogies better, plus I genuinely believe a partial reform may not be the worst thing, so it should pass. Still, I have decidedly mixed emotions about this whole thing. The summer anger has passed.
