Harry Reid vs. Sharron Angle

A quick survey of the headlines this morning on the Harry Reid-Sharron Angle race for U.S. Senate leads to some perhaps unsurprising results:
1.  The media is focused on the "horse race"-- who's ahead, who's poll numbers are better and for what reason...
2.  The real issues are buried beneath an avalanche of misleading ads on both sides -- the "uniform flap" of a Tonopah football team seems more important than the state's real problems because that's where the candidate is focusing.  These real problems include a public education system that is struggling to cope with less money all around and slash-and-burn budgeting at the state level -- problems that federal officials ought to take into account.
3. "Likely" voters are understandably turning to "None of These" as a viable alternative.
So, I would definitely lean toward Harry Reid for a number of reasons in this race, but I'm not enthusiastic.  Harry Reid needs to present a positive message to buttress his attacks on Sharron Angle.  He can't be the opposition candidate this year -- he is the establishment.  So go on the offensive, defend your record, but also tell us how you're going to help get us out of this mess.  I'm looking for something more than "vision" or federal spending figures.  How will Nevada re-orient itself in a new economy?  How will federal land ownership help Nevada instead of hurting it?  Can't we get some real leadership on energy policy from the Senate Majority Leader?  Just some thoughts...maybe more later.
