It's been a while since I posted, so here are seven quick takes to get me restarted:
1. I'm not really excited about Mitt Romney as a Presidential candidate, and I hope most Republicans and independents aren't excited either. It's going to be a slugfest from now until November. Both sides are going to try to rev up their supporters while driving down the other guy's numbers for a while, then the gloves will come off after the conventions.
2. M is taking a nutrition class. It's been good, but somewhat stressful for her, as it's an accelerated class. She realized early on that it is impossible to have a perfect diet. That fact was proven in the main project for the class, in which a computer program showed us that she couldn't get enough Vitamin D, even with an "ideal diet." It only counted milk as a source of Vitamin D, though, so maybe it wasn't being fair.
3. I have started playing chess against the computer. I am on the 2nd lowest difficulty level, and so far I am 1 for 3 in beating the computer. I'm not so good at chess, I guess.
4. We have been watching The Voice on NBC and enjoying it this season. We find out who will win tonight. We have not voted or anything, but M is rooting for Chris Mann (an operatic singer) and I am rooting for a rocker, Juliette Sims. It's not like last year, when there was a clear-cut frontrunner.
5. Disney/Pixar is releasing Brave on June 22. It looks really interesting. Here's a trailer:

6. We bought a new car! We needed to trade in our Camry, which lasted 170,000 miles+, and we got a good deal from the dealership on the trade-in. So we got a Mazda CX-9, a crossover with room for the dog and many fewer miles on it. We are very excited, and we keep looking for reasons to drive it.
7. Well, that's it for now. Thanks for reading!
