Sticking to politics
John L. Smith of the R-J has this to say about New Mexico governor Bill Richardson as a Presidential candidate. I agree with most of what he's saying, and I actually voted for Richardson in a straw poll on Nevada Today. I was surprised to see that he had a big lead in that unscientific poll. I think the appeal of a mountain West candidate is interesting for us Nevadans, but I don't know how it will play nationally. It would be a totally different coalition than the one that voted for Gore and Kerry if Richardson were to win the nomination. We shall see.
