A Final Indignity
Pres. Bush was attacked by a shoe-throwing "journalist" in Iraq today. I'm sure the news will focus on this incident instead of the substance of the visit. This picture was posted on the New York Times website within minutes of the incident. Here's the story. It's up to the minute reporting, but the President deserves more respect than he got, both from the "reporter" and from the rest of the media. Sure, it's news, and here I am spreading it, but is it news that we need? Not really.

Did you watch the actual clip on msnbc.com? I'd say he used his football playing skills pretty well by dodging 2 pot shots like that!! At least he didn't get smacked in the face or something....makes me wonder what else a President typically puts up with in other countries that doesn't happen to make the news!
You make a very good point, at least as what the media considers to be "news" these days - it seems nobody is off-limits.
For example...

REALLY?? Over 10 separate paragraphs about the VP getting a DOG?? Um...I really don't care...
